“Watan Ke Rakhwaale” (1987) was an A G Films production. It was produced by Feroz A Nadiadwala and directed by T Rama Rao. Unlike the previous five Rakhi festivals that this blog has seen, the date of the festival this year has been in some doubt. Some people believe that it is today (viz 20 august 2013), while others feel that it is on 21 august 2013. And that leaves me in a dilemma as to when to discuss the Rakhi songs on this occasion.

Yesterday, I had posted the song “Tumhen Dil Se Jaane Nahin Denge Hum” from the 1945 film ‘Sanyaasi’. The song came at the request of Sikander Esmail Sb who currently resides in the USA. Yesterday morning Atul ji had
forwarded to me an email from Sikander Sb, wherein he has requested for three songs from the 1940s that he is trying to locate. There are some wonderful memories of some departed friends associated with these songs.
