This is once again a very very rare song sung by the one and only Kishore Kumar. The song is penned by Naqsh Layallpuri and composed by Sapan Jagmohan.

A few days ago I had introduced this movie on the blog with this song.

As mentioned in my earlier post, “Siskiyaan” (1982) was produced and directed by Rana Jung Singh. It had music by Sapan Jagmohan. The songs were written by Naqsh Layallpuri, M G Hashmat and Shiv Kumar Saroj.

This is my 99th post and I wanted it to be a Kishore Kumar song, as I have covered Mohd. Rafi Saab and Asha Bhosle in my past posts.

I could manage to find a song which fit my criteria of being rare and by Kishore Da. I hope you will enjoy this song!!!

Siskiyaan 1982 was produced and directed by Rana Jung Singh. It had music by Sapan Jagmohan. The songs were written by Naqsh Layallpuri and Shiv Kumar Saroj.

‘Dil Aakhir Dil Hai’ (1982) was produced by M S Gulati and was directed by Esmayeel Shroff. The cast included Rakhee, Nasiruddin Shah, Parveen Babi, Jalal Agha, Rehman, A K Hangal, Deena Pathak, Dinesh Hingoo, Ramesh Tiwari, Murad, Leela Mishra etc.

In an interview with The Times of India, which was published on October 27, 2022, Nasiruddin Shah has revealed that he was cast in the film only because Rishi Kapoor had backed out from the film. Film’s director, Esmayeel Shroff propped him up by saying that he can do any type of roles. But as the film progressed, he and the director realised that he was a misfit in the film. Probably, this was one of the reasons that film failed at the box office.

Kamsune/Unsune songs of Asha Bhosle – 40

Today’s song “Yeh Hum Jaante Hain” is from “Aaj Ki Dhara” 1977. It is sung by Asha Bhosle, with music by Sapan-Jagmohan and lyrics by Naqsh Lyallpuri.

“Aaj Ki Dhara (Aaj Ki Radha) is a social drama that underwent production challenges and censorship issues, notably over its title. Featuring a stellar ensemble of actors—Mahendra Sandhu, Rehana Sultan, Waheeda Rehman, Danny Denzongpa, and Ranjeet—the film centers on an ordinary person’s courageous fight against societal corruption and injustice, highlighting themes of morality, family, and the individual’s place within traditional social structures. Its music, with evocative melodies and emotionally rich lyrics, complements the film’s tone, even as its production history remains a notable part of its story.

#the Decade of Fifties –1951 – 1960 #
——————————————————————
(Celebrating ‘Saawan’-2025-4)
——————————-

Today’s saawan song is from the movie “Ghamand-1955”. What a wonderful ‘saawan composition this is. The composition soaked in the delight of saawan is by Gulshan Soofi, while the verses swinging in the spirit of saawan are by Naqsh Lyallpuri. Asha Bhonsle’s singing will take you far away from the world to the world of saawan.

“Ghamand-1955” was directed by Deepak Asha for Kirtan Pictures, Bombay. It was produced by Rijhumal Sewaram. It had Shyama, Sheela Ramani, Rajkumar, Kamal Mehra, Ramlal, Seeta Bose, Mohini, Manjeet Kumari, Shakeel, Thakur, Ishwar, Bajaj, Jaani, Murad and others. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 15.01.1955.

“Sarkaari Mehmaan”(1978) is by now an obscure movie, but I was aware of this movie when it was released. Seeing that it was a non Amitabh Bachchan movie, I considered it a B grade movie, not worth my time. Nevertheless, I was not averse to watch a movie if I could get to watch it free. When I used to return back from college in the evening, I came down by walk, which had the added advantage that I came across most movie halls of Ranchi that were located on a single road called Main Road. The newest cinema hall, which also happened to be located closest to my residence was called Sujata Cinema. I found out that while one needed to buy tickets while the movie began, no one checked tickets after half time. So one could wait for the half time when movie watchers came out to buy peanuts, popcorn etc. When they went back inside, their tickets was not checked again. So it was possible to enter the hall in the second half and sit in a vacant seat and watch the second half of the movie. I was able to watch a few flop movies (with very few ticket buyers for them) this way. If my memory is not playing tricks, this movie “Sarkaari Mehmaan”(1978) was one such movie. I entered the movie hall after second half, watched the movie and left the hall after THE END along with other bonafide movie watchers who had the misfortune of buying tickets of this movie.
