“Dil Ne Phir Yaad Kiyaa” (1966) is a movie that is full of sensational songs but these songs were criminally wasted thanks to the boring and painful plot. Even leaving the brain behind (recommended for watching Hindi movies) does not work. One can enjoy these songs only when the characters on whom the song is picturised enjoy it, seeing that it is a romantic song. But the storyline ensures that Nutan is in no position to enjoy Dharmendra’s advances. Those were the days when one judged the size of a place by the number of movie halls in it. If the place had 100 plus movie halls then it was a metropolitan city. If the place had 30 plus movie halls then it was a A class city etc.

Most of the stories in Bollywood movies are derived from the Indian traditions. And in Indian tradition, though a married woman is called “ardhaanigini” (significant half- let us say), but on the other hand, she is required to treat her husband as a superior being, her god, and her place is supposed to be at his feet.
