“Shabistaan” (1951) was an Arabian Nights kind of fantasy movie. Such kind of movie were then regarded as B grade movie. “Stunt” movie was another name for such movies because these movies had lots of fights in them. In fact, Shyam, the hero of this movie, died on the stage of this movie while performing a stunt. He was riding a horse when he fell from the horse and died. To this date, this is regarded as one of the major disasters on the sets of Hindi movies.

It is a love song alright, but here the lovers have more practical matters to consider instead of talking poetry and astronomy. I was neither aware of this movie called “Ye Dil Kisko Doon” (1963) nor this song from the movie. But the obscurity of this movie is easily explainable when you find out who the lead actor of this movie is. It is Shashi Kapoor- enough said. 😀
