January 6th is the death anniversary of Jaidev Verma, known as Jaidev in Hindi film world. He was one of those unlucky music directors who, despite being extremely talented, did not make it to the top in Bollywood. He had given hit songs in Hum Dono (1961), Kinaare Kinaare (1963), Mujhe Jeene Do (1963), Reshma Aur Shera (1972) , Gaman (1979) and many more. He is the only music director who won National Award for best music direction three times for Hindi films – Reshma Aur Sehra, Gaman and Ankahee.

“Ek Saal Pehle” (1965) is a movie which was produced by S B Films. Dharam Kumar directed the movie and the “star” cast included names like Sujit Kumar, Saeeda Khan, Helen, Madhumati, K.N.Singh, Jagirdaar, Asit Sen, Sunder, Mohan Choti, Rajan Kapoor, Neelam etc.
