When I saw the list of songs remaining to complete the score of films in this blog, given by our own in house encyclopedia, Deshmukh Sir, I was actually thrilled that one song from ‘Asli Naqli” was remaining. The song in question is “Laakh chhupaao chhup na sakegaa raaz ho kitna gehraa” is something I am familiar with and very fond.
Videos of all the songs of this film are available. Shankar Jaikishan’s music and Lata as singer were foregone conclusions, but I was not so certain about lyricist. For this I seached in earthmusic.com. Lo & behold, they had this song down as a duet by Lata-Rafi. Even this was not a problem as this film has only two singers singing all the songs. There is only one duet “tujhe jeewan ki dor se baandh liya hai”. Two Lata solos, including the one under discussion and rest of four are solos by Mohammed Rafi. All the seven songs are popular one’s because I knew them all.
This song is a typical S-J song with longish stanza’s being repeated. I dont know the actress singing this song as she teases Dev Anand. From the cast I could take a guess that it is Sandhya. So this concludes the music of “Asli Naqli”. Enjoy this one and visit each and every one of the other six songs to really

Yes Prakashchandra-ji, she is Sandhya Roy. She was a beautiful actress and a talented one too! It was very evident in ‘Jaane Anjaane’ that as an actress, she was far superior to Leena Chandavarkar. It’s so sad that such talented actors are not given their due and just fade away……

Please do not consider Sandhya Roy a nobody.
Sandhya Roy was a leading lady in Bengali films,having worked in more than 400 films,as heroine and as character artist.she married
Director Tarun Mujumdar and they have a sprawling big bungalow like a palace in Alipore,Calcutta.
She acted in few hindi films where Tarun was involved in some capacity-Raahgir,Asli nakli,Jane anjane etc.
Rakhi mujumdar-who later became Rakhi Guljar and a Hindi film Heroine used to work in Sandhya’s house as a Housekeeper first

The third stanza is missing in this video. Here is the audio link with the third stanza, but the first one is missing. If anyone can find all three in same audio/video, it would be gr8.

Thanks for the audio link with a new stanza. This happens with many songs one stanza is included and other is excluded. If this was the full audio with first stanza, we could have a full song.

About Sandhya Roy/Mazumdar : She was a big star in Bengali movies, and was in love with famous Director, Tarun Mazumdar for a number of years before they finally married. Rakhi married director Anil Ganguli but the marriage did not click. Then Rakhi clicked in JEEVAN MRITYU and the rest is…history!

I think Rakhee`s first husband`s name is Ajoy Bishwas(Who directed Sambandh-1969-Music By O.P.Nayyar).
Ajoy Bishwas later married Pradeep Kumar`s wife BEENA(against Pradeep Kumar`s wishes).And their marriage was also a disaster.

You are right about Ajoy Biswas,but Beena was the daughter of pradeep kumar and NOT wife.(He had 3 daughters,Reena,Meena and Beena)

Yes I ws wrong about Ajoy Biswas. Thanks for the correction. Beena is a fine actress who did not get proper recognition. I recently saw on VCD, a film in which she appears opposite Anil Kapoor as heroin, RACHANA. It was a disastrous movie. Then I saw her in another lemon film –ANOKHA RISHTA– playing wife to Shafi Inamdaar, who plays a character role, friend of the hero — Rajesh Khanna. Samita Patil had a guest appearance in this film.

Ya that Anokha rishta got 2 superb Asha solo By Rahul Dev burman It was I think directed by Malayalam hot shot director I.V.Sasi.
And Yes Rachna was Anil Kapoor`s one of earlier movies in which Bina was his heroine(in a role of Nurse, If my memory serves me right)
In another movie she played Bhabhi`s role of Anil kapoor in Andhar baahar

ANOKHA RISHTA was Sabina’s debut film. She acted well. She falls in love with Rajesh Khanna much older to her and when Rajesh Khanna refuses, she is all set to become a Nun. Has she appeared in any other movie? Ameeta was a good actress. She did a very good job in AASHIRWAD as wife of Ashok Kumar.

SABEEHA created sacandal in tabloids by giving inteterview alongwith her mother Ameeta alleging Rajesh Khanna about his VULGAR behaviour against her.(On the sets of ANOKHA RISHTHA-1986)
Further in Aashirvaad(1969)VEENA played the role of Ashok kumar`s wife`s role, Ameetha was not there in the movie.
I think you are getting confused with VEENA & AMEETA(because of their slightly facial resemblences)

Yes, I admit to the error. Veena was in AASHIRWAAD and not Ameeta. Ameeta was in MERE MEHBOOB as Sadhana’s friend and their song Mere mehboob mein kya nahin got very famous. Ameeta did lot of films in B&W era with I. S. Johar too. Am I right?

She is SANDHYA ROY, I think she is also there in Shakthi Samantha directed movie 1971:”Jaane anjaane”
(starring Shammi Kapoor,Leena Chandavarkar) and lip syncs for asha bhosle teasing song(alongwith Leena Chandavarkar) “chaahe tum pyaar karo, chaahe beqaraar karo, raam kasam bura na maanoongi”
She must be famous in Bengali Film Industry.
