Rang le aayenge roop le aayenge

I had heard this song “rang le aayenge roop le aayenge” many times during its days in 1970s. This song was quite a popular song of its time, but all this while I was not aware about the movie this song was from. It is only now that I have come to know that the song was from a movie called “Bhanwar” (1976). This by now obscure movie was an Evershine Pictures production. It was produced by Shyam Keswani and Nandu Mirani. Bhappi Sonie was the director. The story of this song was written by Gulshan Nanda who was a very popular Hindi language pulp fiction novelist of those days.
Today (4 january 2012) is the 20th death anniversary of R D Burman. On this occasion, here is the song “rang le aayenge, roop le aayenge” from “Bhanwar” (1976). The song is picturised as a get together song. The song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Kishore Kumar. The song is lip synced by Aruna Irani and Randhir Kapoor, with others like Ashok Kumar, Parveen Babi, Nadira , Ashoo etc also visible in the picturisation.
Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by R D Burman.

Nice song and got to listen after many years … bachpan mein suna thaa .. . i think the line (at start) ‘phool/dhool arre dhool” is ‘phool arre phool’.
