“Trishul” (1978) was produced by Yash Chopra and directed by Gulshan Rai for Trimurti Films. This movie had Sanjeev Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Rakhi, Hema Malini, Poonam Dhillon (debut) etc in it.
Today (18 february 2014) is the birth anniversary of Khayyam. On this occasion, here is a song from this movie, which , much to my surprise, is only the third song from the movie to make it to the blog so far. This song is a bidai song. It is sung by Pamela Chopra, Kishore Kumar and Yesudas. Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Khayyam.
Avinash Scrapwala, who sent me the lyrics of this song opinies that this song was perhaps deleted from the movie because its video is not available. I have seen the movie and I vaguely recall having seen the picturisation of this song though I could be wrong. My vague remembrance is that this song is picturised while Poonam Dhillon, playing Sanjeev Kumar’s daughter is being married off to Sachin and this song is sung by Poonam Dhillon’s mother, her brother (Shashi Kapoor) and also Amitabh Bachchan (who too is her brother after all, as we all know how).
I request our knowledgeable readers to help confirm/ refute whether this song is actually picturised or it is just ba figment of my imagination. 🙂
PS-I watched the movie and found that this song is not there in the movie. So this song is indeed a song deleted from the movie.

Lyrics(Provided by Avinash Scrapwala)
Baap ka ghar kya
bhai ka ghar kya
aaj samajh sabko anjaaaan
ladki jis ghar mein palti hai
us ghar hoti hai mehmaan
ja ri behna ja
tu apne ghar ja
ja ri behna ja
tu apne ghar ja
ladki ka jab bachpan jaaye
mayka saath hi jaaye
uske jeewan saathi ka ghar
us ka ghar kehlaaye
ja ri behna ja
tu apne ghar ja
ja ri behna ja
tu apne ghar ja
ladki ke jeewan mein Jis din
ye shubh avsar aaye
saas bane maata uski aur
sasur pita kehlaaye
ja ri behna ja
tu apne ghar ja
ja ri behna ja
tu apne ghar ja
ja ri behna ja
tujhko ye nav jeewan raas aaye
tere aangnaa
Lakshmi naache
Durgaa deep jalaaye
ja ri behna ja
tu apne ghar ja
ja ri behna ja
tu apne ghar ja

This might be the song of Poonam Dhillion’s wedding, which is in ‘Kaala Patthar’,

Nahm ji , the song you mentioned ‘meri dooron si aayi baraat’, is an entirely a different song and, yes, it is from the film ‘Kaala Patthar’.
Lyrics for this song are also by Sahir Ludhianvi. and incidentally i have also shared this song to Atul ji earlier (still to be posted).
Thanks !!

I know this is a different song. I was trying to locate Atul ji’s, ‘ figment of imagination ‘ (refer second last para of the post).
