“Aurat”(1940) was a Mehboob Khan Production. It had Sardar Akhtar, Surendra, Jyoti, Yacub, Kanhaiyalal, Arun Kumar etc in it. The story of this movie was later reused by Mehboob Khan in his “Mother India” (1957).
Here is a song from “Aurat” (1940). This song is sung by Surendra and Jyoti and it is picturised on them as well. Jyoti looks like Nimmi and that is not a coincidence because she was the aunt (mausi) of Nimmi.
The song is written by Safdar Aah Sitapuri and music is composed by Anil Biswas.

Then Fazalbhoy of RCA, Dr. Patel and Chimanbhai Desai decided to form National studios and film Aurat was finally completed and released under National Studios banner on 10-5-1940. 200 families which depended on Sagar movitone, were shifted to National studios.
