Happy Birthday To You O Mister Pedro

Hullo to all in Atuldom

I thought of putting down a few thoughts; that came to me in the last few days; on record. For one who is constantly Bangalore- Bashing as regards to the infrastructure etc, I must admit that it has given me a few PLUSes. I have been able to go for a few musical shows at some of the lovely Halls that Bangalore has. It all began with a show which was titled “Suno Mere Bandho Re” which paid tribute to S.D. Burman to the last one; about which I cannot stop myself from repeating about- where I saw my all time favourite Basanti. This is probably because of the changed working hours of the family members. I have found a little more free time here than in the period when I was a Mumbai-mother. Again the free time could be due to that fact that I go out very little on Social visits. So all things put together I find at least an hour or two to sit at my Desktop and read, listen to songs etc. This has also been the cause of my associating with the blog and getting to know a whole new set of Human Beings who have interests similar to mine. Of course for this I should whole heartedly Thank my daughter who stumbled on the blog.

The association has given me whole new gang of friends starting from Atulji (yet to meet him on a person to person level though). But today’s birthday boy/ Batulite I have met quite a few times now in the last two years. And I can safely say that I like his style of writing posts which are slightly longer than an essay (as I knew it in school days) but shorter than the novels of Nancy Drew/ Hardy Boys (my staples as a school goer). I find them more interesting than Mandrake/ Phantom/ Bahadur (comics that were recently discussed on our Whatsapp group by atulites).  Possibly the fact that his posts are more about his personal views of how he loved Mohd. Rafi but also favoured Kishore Kumar, loved Rajesh Khanna but has slowly learnt to accept Amitabh Bachchan makes them unique. In our recent gangout we discovered (actually credit for this goes to Avinashji) that he was a fan of the style icons Shammi Kapoor and Dev Anand. On a personal front I like his hospitable nature and his way with the various software available online.

So here is wishing the Rajaji of our group a very happy birthday. Alright let me tell you why or where from I got the idea to post this song on this day; it was from Sudhirji’s reports of the Mumbai and Bangalore Gangouts.  Today’s song is at the birthday bash of a small time chieftain in Sachin (the ex-childstar’s) directorial “Prem Deewane”. It is filmed on Jackie Shroff (in the voice of Amit Kumar), VIvek Mushran (Udit Narayan playbacks for him) and Pooja Bhatt (Sadhana Sargam sings for her). We have Sachin doing a Subhash Ghai/ Alfred Hitchcock kind of appearance.  it was produced by Ashok Ghai for Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts and had Laxmi-Pyare- Anand Bakshi in the music department.

Nice Post Peevesie’s Mom ji ,
Once again, with a ‘party-mood’ now 🙂 wishing a very happy birthday to our beloved Raja Saab !!!
I have watched this movie “Prem Deewaane” few times then. Because it was directed by Sachin and its song picturization has his special touch and overall it was a good movie (at least I like it then) having good music too. 🙂

Thank you SO much, Peevisie’s Mom. This is really sweet of you. 🙂

I guess my posts are like a Test match – and one that goes all the way to the end of the fifth day. -) Also, sometimes I think my posts are too much about my own opinion of various artistes / films, or my own experiences. Maybe readers say “who cares?” 🙂 They might be more interested in the details of the song, or the film.

Khair, no one has complained yet (not that I know of, anyway!) so I will continue in this style. 🙂

Nice song – I have heard it before, though I haven’t seen the film.

ahh! a new song that you have heard, wonder of wonders! as far as i am concerned i am a slow reader, so your posts are naturally companion stuff when i am on long journeys. i re read them on my travels

Sadhna Sargam had such a good voice but as Sadhna went waste, Sargam became Sar’gham’
