Blog 10-Year Challenge (2012-2022) – Song No. 50
————————————————————————————–

Welcome all to this post under ‘blog ten-year challenge’ of ‘2012-2022’. Ten years ago, in the year 2012 the blog was around four years old and already going great in terms of ‘daily posts’ on the blog.

In the year ‘2008’ there were 475 songs posted on the blog from ‘July’ to ‘December-2008’. The average was around 3 songs or posts per day.

However, the blog celebrated a ‘musical feast’ for next four years I must say. Let us have a look on the total number of posts from ‘2009 to 2012’ on the blog as per following.

Year Total posts Average per day
2009 1768 4.84
2010 1167 3.20
2011 1819 4.98
2012 2071 5.66

We can see that the year ‘2012’ saw a total of ‘2071 posts’ at the rate of almost six songs per day. And that remains the ‘highest score’ for the blog in a ‘year’ so far, till date.

The next year i.e., ‘2013’ the figures tried hard to catch ‘2000’ but could reach to ‘1916’ posts only.

From here onwards i.e., the next four years viz. ‘2014’, ‘2015’, ‘2016’ and ‘2017’ the blog averaged 1159 posts per year at the rate of ‘03’ song posts per day.
And going further down in the next four years i.e., ‘2018’ to ‘2021’ the average rate of posts per year was 721 only at an average of ‘02’ songs per day.

And this year ‘2022’ till now, the average maintained so far again comes to 2 posts per day. 😊

So, we have seen that the year ‘2012’ was a very special year for the blog. Posts were raining down at the rate of ‘more than five’ per day.

Coming back to today’s day, 4th June, this date ten years back i.e., in 2012 saw as many as nine articles posted on the blog as per details given below.

Song Movie title(Year) Remarks
Jo tum kar sakte ho main kar saktaa hoon badh ke Adaa(1951) All songs covered
Phool bagiya mein bhanwre aaye Zindagi Aur Khwaab(1961) All songs covered
Dil mera tumhaari adaayein le gayi Gauri(1968) All songs covered
Pathh bhoola ke aaya musaafir Door Gagan Ki Chhaaon Mein(1964) All songs covered
Mere yaar tu chhod gham Love In Canada(1979) 01 of 04 songs posted
Ek to soorat pyaari aur oopar se ye naaz Vallaah Kya Baat Hai(1962) All songs covered
Kayi din se dil hai bekal Dulhan Ek Raat Ki(1966) All songs covered
Ye waqt na kho jaaye Raaste Pyaar Ke(1982) 03 of 06 songs posted
Raaste mein ik haseen Basant(1960) 11 of 14 songs posted

From the above table we can see that out of the nine movies represented on the blog on 04.06.2012 six movies have already been ‘Yippeeee’ed’.

That leaves us with three movies viz. ‘Love in Canada-1979’, ‘Raaste Pyaar Ke-1982’ and ‘Basant-1960’ that are eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge today.

I am presenting a song from the movie ‘Love In Canada-1979’.

HFGK Vol-V (1971-1980) mentions in the ‘addenda’ for this movie that this movie was an imported movie from the year ‘1979’.

‘Love in Canada-1979’ was directed by S. Ramnathan for ‘Tyagi Films Limited’. It had Vinod Mehra, Maushumi Chatterjee, Shelly Homik (Miss Teen Canada/new discovery), Jeetendra (in special appearance), Asrani, Aruna Irani, Iftekhar, Indrani Mukherji, Abrar Alvi, and others.

This movie had four songs (including one two-part song). Lyrics for three songs (including one two-part song) were written by Yogesh and one song was penned by Sharon Prabhakar.

Music for this movie was composed by Hemant Kumar.

Mohd Rafi, Hemant Kumar, Arti Mukherjee, Lata Mangeshkar, and Sharon Prabhakar had given their voices to the song of this move.

This movie seems to be an obscure movie of its time, though it seems to be available on internet, I had not watched this movie. All songs from this movie are new for me.
Today’s song is sung by Lata Mangeshkar.

Lyrics for the today’s song were sent by Prakashchandra who has also shared the links of the song and link of the movie too, with other details of this movie.

As mentioned above Lyrics for the today’s song are written by Yogesh and music is composed by Hemant Kumar.

Let us listen to the today’s song now which has good meaningful verses …

I hope readers will enjoy this song …
