We observe that two movies (out of eight) whose songs were covered on this date ten years ago (on 19 april 2013) have since been YIPPEED in the blog. So we have six unYIPPEED movies that are eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge today (19 April 2023).
That date ten years ago happened to be Ramnavami. On that occasion, a couple of Lord Ram related songs were covered from Lord Ram related movies. First movie was “Bharat Milaap” (1942) and second movie was “Jai Hanuman”(1948).
“Bharat Milaap” (1942) has already been taken up under BTYC earlier today. That leaves us with “Jai Hanuman”(1948) as the next Lord Ram related movie.
“Jai Hanuman”(1948) was directed by Ramchandra Thakur for Ranjit Movietone, Bombay. This movie had Nirupa Roy, P.Kailash, Keshav Purohit, Babu Raje, S.N.Tripathi, Rajrani,Ramkumar, Chunnilal Nayak, Shyam, Kamlakant, Popat Lal, Sachin Ghosh, Pesi Patel, Vasant Rao, Tara Bai, B.Kumar, Daksha, Chatterjee, Kamlesh Thakkar, Inamdar, Shobha Thakkar etc in it.
This movie had 12 songs in it. Two songs, both Lord Ram related, have been covered in the past.
Here is the third song from the movie. It is sung by Amirbai Karnataki. Pt Indra Chandra is the lyricist. Music is composed by Bulo C Rani.
Only audio of the song is available. From the sounds of it, this song appears to be picturised on Sita and her sahelis. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
