Ta’areef uss khuda ki jis ne jahaan banaaya – Non-Film Song (Jagjit & Chitra Singh)

In this article, I am presenting a song, ‘suno aye duniyawaalon ek naya paighaam laaya hoon’ from an incomplete film, ‘Naya Mandir’ (1961). It was directed by Kishore Sahu. It had Manoj Kumar, Mala Sinha and Mehmood in main roles. I came to know of this song on the audio album of ‘Film Hi Film’ (1983). Unfortunately, this song seems to have been deleted from the VCD of the film available on one of the video sharing platforms. Since video clip of the song is available in continuation of the scene from ‘Film Hi Film. (1983), it can be construed that the song was included in the film.
Shahab Ahmed, the producer of ‘Film Hi Film’ (1983) had earlier produced ‘Cinema Cinema’ (1979). During his visit to Bombay Film Laboratory, he was astonished to see cans of more than 2000 unfinished films lying in the laboratory. Shahab Ahmed thought that a lot of efforts had gone into making these films which unfortunately remained incomplete for various reasons. So, he came with the idea of incorporating scenes and songs from a few select incomplete films to make a full-length feature film [Source: ‘…and Pran’ (2005) by Bunny Rueben].

Today I am presenting a song from the 1977 movie ‘Aanand Aashram’. It was directed by Shakti Samanta for his home productions ‘Shakti Films’. I had earlier presented a song from this movie on this blog on 14.01.2023. This song is ‘jab chaaho chalee aaoongee’. I had not watched this movie till then, but I did always remember the two well-known songs from this movie i.e. ‘raahee naye naye rastaa nayaa nayaa’ and ‘saaraa pyaar tumhaaraa maine baandhh liyaa hain aanchal mein’. So, when I presented the third song from this movie I had also gone through the remaining songs from this movie and some parts of this movie. I am always fascinated by the movies coming from the Bengali directors and those which are based on the literary works of the writers coming from Bengal. I have a great admiration for the arts, culture, theatre and films coming from that part of our country. I always had this movie on the back of my mind and that is the reason for this post today.

I have a list of ‘Yaad” songs to post. This being a classic “yaad” song, with the oft repeated line “Teri Yaad Saathh hai”. This song is unforgettable in many aspects. Over the years, I have wanted to post this one. Whenever Raahat Fateh Ali Khan’s voice is heard, this is the song I remember every time. So consistent is the association.
After visiting UK and London in 2021, I looked up this song but could not find the link with such visuals which are here in the full audio version. Video clip is small with the song playing in the background, when Rishi Kapoor visits India and taking his wife and daughter Katrina Kaif around and they visit all the important places of worship, mostly in north India and the trip ends with the Taj Mahal visit. In the full audio version, the whole films scenes and story is related in partly present and flashback. I have seen the film 2-3 times. It makes a good watch, light romance and decent songs.

#Debutant Movie- Alam Ara Ki Beti-1960#
Today we introduce the movie ‘Alam Ara Ki Beti-1960’ on this blog. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 02.02.1960. Initially I was surprised to note this, because I was under the impression that this movie has been represented on the blog long back. But the reason for this was confusing this with the title ‘Alam Ara’. We have three movies with this title made in the year 1931, 1956 & 1973 already available on this blog.
This movie ‘Alam Ara Ki Beti-1960’ was directed by Nanubhai Vakil for Desai Kalamandir, Bombay. Moghabhai Desai was the producer of this movie. The cast of this movie had Naina, Maruti, Daljeet, Prakash, Kanchanmala, Jeevankala, Sadik, Tuntun, Munshi Munakka, Chandabai, Nazmi, Sashimala, M. Kumar, Nadir, Meharbanu, Razzaq, Pawan Kumar, Ismail Azad, Yusuf Azad Qawwaal and others.
