Today 24th May 2026 is the birthday of music director-lyricist Rajesh Roshan. On this occasion we are presenting some of his compositions here.
Rajesh Roshan is known for creating some very beautiful and memorable romantic songs. Here I would specially like to mention the songs from ‘Swarg Narak-1978’ ‘naheen naheen koyee tumsaa haseen’ and ‘leena o leena’ these are two songs that I have stayed in my memory and I have fond memories of having listened to these songs despite being unequipped to understand the meanings of the lyrics those days.
For today’s occasion I am presenting a duet song from the movie “Hamaari Bahu Alkaa-1982” composed by Rajesh Roshan.
This movie “Hamaari Bahu Alkaa-1982” was directed by Basu Chatterjee for ‘Anuradha Films. Shyam Sundar Seksariya was the producer of this movie. Basu Chatterjee also wrote the screenplay and dialogues of this movie. Story of this movie was written by Manoj Basu. Editing of this movie was done by V.N. Mayekar. The cast of this movie included Rakesh Roshan, Bindiya Goswami, Asrani, Prema Narayan, Utpal Dutt, Sudha Shivpuri, Master Raju, Ranjeet Sood, Manik Dutt, Aroop Ganguly, Lakshami, R.S. Chopra, Viju Khote Meghdoot, Manmauji, Pappu, Soni, Dev Sharma, Meena, Satya Bannerjee, Pratap, Jayshree T., Meena T., and others. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 12.01.1982.
I had watched this movie at Akola, but the only thing about this movie that I remember is that that I had liked this movie. This was the kind of movie I love to watch.
“Hamaari Bahu Alkaa-1982” has five songs in it. They were written by Yogesh (three songs) and Amit Khanna (two songs). Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar, Usha Mangeshkar, Amit Kumar, Shailendra Singh, Alka Yagnik and Peenaz Masani had given their voices to the songs in this movie.
Here is this duet song which is sung by Amit Kumar and Alka Yagnik. The song is picturised on Bindiya Goswami and Rakesh Roshan at picturesque outdoor locations.
