He treated everyone with great respect and, in turn, earned the respect of everyone he interacted with.

जाने वाले फिर नहीं आते
जाने वाले की याद आती है

The dear ones who depart this world, do never return; just the memories remain. And then, just as another poet has said, “यादों का सहारा ना होता, हम छोड़ के दुनिया चल देते”. If we did not have the bracing support of the memories, life would really have been a difficult journey to tread. Memories make us experience the past emotions once again, and in a manner, give us the strength to permeate the emotions of sorrow that may linger after the departure of a loved one.

Today’s song is from a rare and less known film ‘Lakharani’ from 1945.

Although this was a film made by the great Prabhat Film Company of Poona, unlike earlier Prabhat films this movie never became famous or a landmark film. The reasons were many. Secondly, the storyline of this film was far away from the type of films Prabhat had made in the past. True to its tradition, however, the film had a central theme of “open entry for all castes into Hindu temples“. But it was told through a story of tribal folks and allied jungle people, with whom probably, the audience could not  identify themselves.
