I had vaguely heard about this movie called “Ek Shrimaan Ek Shrimati” (1969) but I was not aware of this song. I heard (and watched) this song for the first time just a few hours ago.

Music director Ravi (full name Ravishankar Sharma) does not occupy as much mindshare in public mind as many other music directors of the golden era of Bollywood movie music do . Many younger music lovers in fact ask “Ravi who ?” when his name crops up in discussions.

“Shrimatiji” (1952) is a movie that was different from the usual Bollywood movies. Its storyline was not Indian, rather that was drawn from external sources. And it is interesting to find stereotypical depiction of exotic people in this movie and its songs.

“Adhikaar” (1954) is a forgotten movie by now, but what a remarkable movie it was. This movie had Kishore Kumar and Usha Kiran in lead roles who (if I am not wrong) play live in couple at least five decades earlier than when this concept became somewhat socially acceptable. And the same movie was remade as “Sweekaar Kiyaa Maine” in 1980s.

I have posted a few well known songs from “Aan Milo Sajna”(1970). There are some “lesser known ” songs in this movie. By “lesser known”, what I mean is that I was not aware about these songs being part of “Aan Milo Sajna” when everyone else did.
