This day ten years ago viz 9 september 2010 saw seven songs getting covered. Unlike most days, the posts got delayed a bit. The fist post appeared at 8:13 AM whereas the seventh and final post of the day could appear only at 12:22 PM.

Ten years ago, viz on 5 August 2010, the blog had covered six songs from six different movies, belonging to years from 1959 to 1973. Details of these songs are as follows:-

One can observe that the first five movies covered that day have already been YIPPEED by now. That leaves us with only one movie viz “Sabak”(1973), that has not yet been YIPPEED and so this movie is eligible for the blog ten year challenge today.

Today, 25th July is the 24th anniversary of the passing away of GS Kohli, one of the most talented musician and music director in Hindi cinema’s Golden age.

Gursharan Singh Kohli was born in 1928. As a child and young man, he learnt to play dholak and many other musical instruments. He was just 24 years when he started working with the famous music director OP Nayar, as his assistant. He continued to be Nayar Sb’s assistant music director till the end of 1960s, even though he had started his own career as an independent music director with the film ‘Lambe Haath’ in 1960.

The movie had Rajesh Khanna, Tanuja, Moushami Chatterji, Rajesh Behal, Asrani, Meena.T, Baby Sonu, Uma Dhawan, Chand Kuldip, Aruna Irani, Asit Sen, David Abraham, Jagdeep, Manmohan, Jankidas, Kumud Chuggani etc in it.
