Today (13 november 2012) is Deewaali, the festival of light. This is the fifth Deewaali festival for this blog, which is quite an achievement for us, seeing that this blog has not just survived for such a long time, but has in fact progressed and thrived. Now it has become an online collaboration of likeminded music lovers who are contributing their mite and that is helping build up a valuable online musical repository.

Today (13 november 2012) is Deewaali, easily India’s biggest festival and a festival which also happens to be the time when Indians do their major shoppings of the year because this is supposed to be the most auspicious occasion for such activities. This festival in fact is celebrated as Laxmi Puja, Laxmi being the goddess of wealth and the consort of Vishnu, one of the three major Gods. Of course this festival is also celebrated as the day when Lord Ram (one of the reincarnations of Vishnu) returned back to Ayodhya with Sita and Laxman after completing his period of Vanwas.

“Shirdi Ke saibaba” (1977) is a movie which is based on a book Sri Sai Charitra written by Late Sri Govindrao Dabholkar. The movie was produced by Salra charities trust. Ashok.V. Bhooshan directed the movie. The movie had Sudhir Dalvi, Manmohan Krishna, Raj Mehra,Usha Chavhan, Chanda, Vatsala Deshmukh,
Suman Dharmadhikari, Kumari Mahalaxmi, Laxman Chawla, Shrikanth Moghe, Preetham Beli,Jyotsna Kirpekar, Bhavna, C.S.Dubey, Ratnamala, Master Tito etc in it. In addition,some well known actors, viz. Hemamalini, Manoj kumar, Shathrughna Sinha, Premnath, Rajendra Kumar, Madan Puri,Paintal, Sathsh,Dheeraj kumar, Krishan Dhawan, Sachin etc had made guest appearances in this movie.
