“Raja aur rank” (1968 ) is a movie that the present generation of movie watchers are not much familiar with, and that is for good reasons too. The movie was eminently forgettable with a flimsy story line. The only well known actor in this movie was Sanjeev Kumar, and he too was a newcomer to Bollywood.

I have listened to this song many a times. Considering the heavy duty word like “Sheesha e dil” in this song, I was under the impression that this must be a serious song. When I watched the picturisation of the song, I found that it was a fun song picturised on a beach.

I accidentally stumbled upon this song yet again, and I was immediately reminded of 1972 when this song was very popular with most listeners. This song was regularly played in Radio Ceylon in the aaphi ke geet farmaishi programme. Its farmaish was sent not only from Jhumri Tilaiyya, but from other farmaish happy places as well.
