I have discussed as many as six songs from “Jeet” (1948) in this blog. Most of these songs were sung by Suraiyya, the then reigning acting-singing superstar. But this movie also had a new emerging voice that was tipped to go far. Yes, Lata Mangeshkar was also given an opportunity of playback singing in this movie.

By now, most music lovers who are a regular of this blog must have come to the same conclusion about Chitragupta as I have concluded- that he was a grossly underrated and underutilised music director.
