In late 1950s and early 1960s, several comedians were seeking to become heroes in Hindi movies. The names of Johny Walker, Mehmood and Jagdeep readily comes to mind. They all acted as heroes in a few movies each, but keeping a sombre face while acting out serious scenes (viz romantic scenes, sad scenes) was not exactly their strong suit. And that is why most of these ventures ended up in failures.

It is often said that Hindi movie are enjoyed the best when you leave your brain behind. And when it comes to Dara Singh movies, it helps even more if one did not have a brain to begin with. 😀 Dara Singh movies are good brainless entertainment,and they are grade Z gems, as someone lovingly puts it in youtube. Brainless entertainment and grade Z gems- waah ! There cannot be higher “praise” than that for Dara Singh movies !

There are several Hindi movies with grand sounding titles, but here is a very homely kind of a title for a movie. It is called “Mera Ghar Mere Bachche” (1960), which means “My home and my kids”. How very plebian !
