A song that I had explored and located, albeit very delayed for the purpose. This song fits in so well with the ‘Nain Laage’ series that Nahm ji has treated us with, in the recent past. By the time I was able to locate this song and upload it, Nahm ji had already dropped the curtain on the series. And so, with her permission, I am posting this song directly.

When I wake up early in the morning and switch on the computer, the first page that I normally see is the google screen. On most of the days, it is the normal google screen, but on special occasions, we have some google doodles on them as well. I was pleasantly surprised today (29 april 2014) to find a google doodle on an Indian person and that too on an Indian person connected with music.

Badalte Huye Saathi – Episode 3 (Khursheed Bano- Surendra)
————————————
Khursheed, who dominated the 40s with her memorable songs, was about to leave India for Pakistan, after partition. By that time, she had become a major singing star of the industry and was singing with other major singing stars of that time. In the previous article, A rising Khursheed sang with a fading Vasanti. In the song under discussion, Khusheed, on the verge of bowing out from the industry, joins forces with another star actor singer of the time, viz- SURENDRA.

After a gap of almost a week or so, I am returning to the series,” DEBUT OR FIRST FILM SONGS”,with the 9th song .

Today we will take a look at one more such comet, who came, sang songs and returned from where he came-on his own free will. It was not that he was not getting any song assignments- there were plenty of them, but he decided to put Family commitments over over his personal ambitions.

A most versatile character actor. Well, not completely feasible, given his short stature and a thin voice. And yet, he has successfully played a variety of roles on the screen that cover the spectrum from very negative to the very positive. Nainon se naina milaa ke : (Song no. 1)
——————————————-
It has been a while that I made a contribution to the blog. Not that I have been away, but once the momentum is gone, lethargy sets in. Every once in a while one keeps exploring the possibilities of writing a post, for some special song. While I was pondering on where to start again, much has happened here. Firstly, congratulations to Atul ji and fellow contributors are in order for reaching the figure of 9500 songs posted.
