Today is the third day of the year 2015. I was able to post songs during the first two days that resulted in all songs of those movies getting covered in the blog. Going by my new year resolution on this topic, I have to post the final song of movies everyday.

Considerable effort of musicians and music arrangers, besides the sound recordist, goes into the creation of any song that finally result in the song ending up becoming hummable for public at large. Some of the great musicians and arrangers who worked ‘behind the curtain’ in creating these songs were Antony Gonsalves, Antanio Vaz (Chic Chocolate), Sebastian D’souza, Frank Fernand, Enoch Daniels, Van Shipley, Manohari Singh, Kersi Lord, Maruti Rao Keer among many others.

It is normal for people to express concern about “Bhrastaachaar” (corruption) in our society and country and it is also normal to believe that the society and country will be a better place if corruption is weeded out.
But what about the other point of view ? Suppose that corruption goes away and the society and the country turns over a new leaf overnight. Will we then have a nation of our dream ? Not quite. Absence of the deep rooted systems that are in existence in our lives will lead to utter chaos. 🙂 At least that is what this satirical song suggests. 🙂

The year would have been 1966 or 1967. Yash Chopra’s now iconic film ‘Aadmi Aur Insaan’ was on the drawing boards. Yash ji approached a very up and coming actress of singular beauty with an offer for the lead female role. And the young lady, all of maybe 22 or 23 years old, declined; with reason that she was quitting films. The role then was taken up by Saira Banu. The film, with some delays, got released in 1969, and went on to be a successful box office earner in its own right. The lady who declined the role, appeared in the same year in another blockbuster of a movie that actually catapulted her, and her leading man in that film, to heights of stardom.

I heard this recital by Meena Kumari for the first time ‘ Yoon teri rehguzar se deewana war guzre ‘ when Sudhir Sir’s post appeared in the blog, I was spell bound and could not stop hearing it for days on. The recital was so heart wrenching and full of sadness. I recorded the audio on my mobile and shared with all my friends.
