After reading a vast repository of information available on the internet as well as in the books, I am pretty certain about the personalities of Mukesh, Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Talat Mehmood, Manna Dey, Geeta Dutt, Asha Bhonsle etc. But I am not so sure about what sort of person Kishore Kumar was. He was branded as eccentric, unpredictable, money minded, stingy etc etc. In a rare interview conducted by Lata Mangeshkar about a couple of years before his death in 1987, he had revealed that he donned the mask of eccentricity and unpredictable behaviour just for those persons whom he disliked and did not wish to be associated with. But how can one explain his eccentric behaviour even with his elder brother Ashok Kumar and his family members whom he respected a lot ? “Ek Kali Muskaayi”(1968) was a Panchdeep Chitra Production. The movie was directed by Vasant Joglekar. This movie was meant to introduce the director’s daughter, viz. Meera Joglekar as a lead actress in Hindi movies. Here she was cast opposite Joy Mukherjee. Other actors in the cast included Ashok Kumar, Mehmood, Om prakash, Nirupa Roy, Lalita Pawaar, Nana Palsikar, Sunder, Neelam, Malika etc.
