The fun songs by Kishore Da are a class apart by themselves. There is nothing at all in this world to compare them to. And during the 50s and 60s, when Kishore Da also acted in many films, there is a number of very wonderful songs that he has sung and also performed on the screen. An accomplished actor that he was, he has done the best interpretations of his own singing, and has performed his own songs, as no other actor can even consider it possible. Each one of the pictures that he acted in, contain fantastic gems that are superb both from the singing as well as from the performance aspects.

“Bhai Behan” (1959) was a Sippy Films Production movie. It was produced and directed by G P Sippy. The movie had Naaz, Daisy Irani, Nishi, Johnny Walker, Rehman etc in it.

I am aware of “Sharaarat” (1959) as well as “Sharaarat”(1972). These two movies have great music by Shankar Jaikishan and Ganesh respectively.

The movie had Manmohan Krishna, Nishi Kohli, Shrikant, Honey Irani, David Abraham, Manorama, Yashodhara Katju, Lal Bahadur, Gopi Krishna, Kamal Mehra, Indira Bansal, Dulari, Kathana, Hayat, Taneja etc.

“Bhai Behan” (1959) is by now an obscure movie, even though it was produced by an A grade producer namely G P Sippy. I S Johar wrote the story and the cast of the movie had names like Starcast: Daisy Irani, Naaz, Nishi Kohli,Rehman, Johnny walker, Kamaljit, Rajan Kapoor, Kathana,PraveenPaul,Rubi Pearl,Amrit Rana, Shammi,Tuntun, Hari Shivdasani,Anwar Hussain etc in it.

There are several Hindi movies with grand sounding titles, but here is a very homely kind of a title for a movie. It is called “Mera Ghar Mere Bachche” (1960), which means “My home and my kids”. How very plebian !
