What does one do when one wakes up early in the morning.? My daily routine is to take my two pets on their morning walks one by one. I have stuck to this routine unfailingly irrespective of the weather. While most fair weather morning walkers give up when the weather becomes foul, I perform my morning walk even when it is raining, it is fog, it is cold etc. Or rather, one can say that my pets insist on going on their morning walks and I accompany them.

Just as the weather is variable, what one encounters during the walk also changes. On mornings of foul weather conditions, we are the only morning walkers, but on fair weather conditions, lots of fair weather creaturers, human as well as others can be seen.

Non human morning walkers that we encounter are street dogs and monkeys. How our dogs react to them and how they reach to the dogs differ from dog to dog. I will describe these and other interesting eperiences of our morning walks in detail in some other post which would basically discuss my pets. As it happens, the last time I discussed my pets was in may 2015. So a detailed writeup on them is now overdue.

This post is appearing at morning time. No, today is an exception when I am not going on a morning walk. No, it is not that I am suddenly feeling lazy. Not at all. At present I am travelling and so I may not be able to find much time to post today. Nevertheless, here is a good morning song to greet all.

The song is a good good morning song, viz a fair weather morning song, when people have no trouble waking up and feeling pleased.
“jag” in fact sings songs of joy on such mornings as this song describes. 🙂 The mornings in the parts of india where I stay and move around are nowhere like the good morning as described in the song, but nevertheless we do have such good mornings elsewhere.

The song is sung by Khan Mastana and Kalyani Das. Zia Sarhadi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Pt Govindram. This song is from “Dil Ki Duniya”(1949) and it happens to be the fourth song (out of ten) from the movie to appear in the blog.

Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

I have not been able to get a few words right in the song. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrections as applicable.

The words of the song may make people to feel that the song under discussion is the famous Talat Mehmood song Shaam e gham ki kasamsong from “Footpath”(1953). But no, this song is different. The Talat Mehmood song has already been discussed in the blog more than seven years ago. The song under discussion is from a movie called “Dil Ki Duniya”(1949) which predates the Talat Mehmood song by four years.

Chaandni raaten – song no. 14
———————————

In one of the earlier posts in this series, I mixed up two songs ‘aadha hai chandrama raat aadhi’ and ‘chal jaa re hat natkhat’. There was more than one regulars on the blog who volunteered with the correction. It is a good sign, that small talk that I make in my posts are being read at least. 🙂 The comments containing additional information about the movie, lyricist and words of appreciation are motivating, even if not always replied to individually.
