This is a song where the genius of Kaifi Azmi can be seen in his ability to express complex, complicated and involved feelings in a very coherent and understandable manner. The situation is one where India ( a peace loving country that had no time and inclination for a war) was attacked by China in 1962, and as happens with those unprepared, untrained and unequipped, the Indian soldiers found themselves as sitting ducks on the front.

This song from “Aulaad” is a long standing farmaish of Raja, but all these days I had been hampered from posting it because its video is not available. After searching for its video and drawing a blank, I took its audio clip and I decided to present this song with the picture of Chitragupta, the music director of this movie and indeed of this song.

In my younger days, when one talked about movies like “Adalat”, “Parvarish” etc, I was reminded about movies of 1970s with these names and featuring Amitabh Bachchan, and the movies of 1958 with the same names were boring in my view.
