Today’s song is from the film Pataal Bhairavi-1952. This is the film’s last song to feature here, making the film an YIPPEE film.
With all the earlier 8 songs already discussed in detail, almost all the information about the film and its cast is already given by the contributors-including me. This posed a big problem for me as to what I can discuss now that is not yet conveyed in earlier posts. But for every problem there is always a solution and I found it, looking at the cast again. This film was a dubbed film, not a remake and hence all the artistes were from the south. Barring a few main Hero heroines, people outside South are not familiar with other character actors from below the Vindhyas.

Today’s song is from a dubbed (Tamil/Telugu) Hindi film Pataal Bhairavi-1952.
The film was produced by B.Nagi Reddy and Chakrapani in their Vijay Vauhini studio, Madras, for the banner – Vijaya productions, Madras. The film was directed by K. Venkat Reddy. For music, they had appointed the famous Music Director from the South – Ghantasala. This was his First Hindi film. The cast of the film was N.T.Rama Rao (popularly known as NTR), S.V.Ranga Rao, Malathi, Girija, T.G.Kamla, Relangi, Surabhi Kamala (the first Telugu actress of Telugu Talkie films) and many others. As such in southern films a lot of actors work in a film.

The film was made by master Vinayak under the banner of his own short-lived film company “Huns Pictures”. During its existence of only 4 years, the company had given 10 memorable films. What is the formula to make a hit film ? No one ever had any answer for this question, so far in the film industry. Had there been an answer, 99 % of films would have been hits. However, in my opinion, there could be only one answer – LUCK ! Even if you analyse all the hit films till today, I doubt if the right answer could be found.
