ARADHANA-1969 is a film which was a turning point for many people. For Rajesh Khanna, it heralded a begining as a Superstar and for Kishore Kumar, it proved to be the begining of ” Kishor Period” in the HFM from 1970 to 1985.

“Daag” (1973) was the debut movie of Yash Chopra’s production company (Yashraj Films). This movie, which was produced and directed by Yash Chopra had Rajesh Khanna, Sharmila Tagore, Manmohan Krishnan, Madan Puri, Achla Sachdev, Manmohan, A. K. Rajesh Khanna and Hema Malini, the top male and female stars of 1970s, combined for the first time in 1974 in “Premnagar” (1974). Today (18 july 2013) is the first death anniversary of Rajesh Khanna (29 december 1942- 18 july 2012). Much have been written about him since late 1960s when he burst into the Hindi movie scene and reigned supreme. Whatever can be said and written about him has been written. Since I have to discuss a Rajesh Khanna song on this occasion, so let me also add some of my observations about Rajesh Khanna, with the full benefit of hindsight.
