Kishore Kumar has sung some wonderful comedy songs in his career. One of the first such songs, that won widespread public approval was in “Dilli ka thug”. In this movie, Kishore Kumar sang songs of different moods.

Jaana kahaan hai

This movie is known for Bappi Lahiri’s memorable music. This was the second move as a music director for Bappi Lahiri. If his music was good in Zakhmee ( “Jalta hai jia mera bheegi bheegi raaton me”), his music was even better, in fact outstanding in “Chalte Chalte”. Its theme song has become an iconic song.

Most of the time, I discuss songs that are evergreen, popular, iconic, outstanding, of high quality etc. But there are occasions when I love to discuss songs that fall short of such high standards. But I still like them, because listeneing/ watching them is fun.

Kishore Kumar is known for singing happy songs bubbling with joie de vivre. But that is not all. He could sing sad songs just as well. In fact, he has sung some wonderful sad songs reflecting different shades of sadness.
