If Akshay Kumar movies of 1990s tended to have the word “Khilaadi” in them , then Sheikh Mukhtaar’s movies of 1950s and 1960s used to have the title “Ustaad” in them.

“Ten O’ Clock” (1958), not to be confused with “12 O’Clock” (1958), was a Niagara Pictures Production. It was directed by Jugal Kishore. The movie had Suresh, Geeta Bali, Sheikh Mukhtar, Yakub, Maruti, Daisy Irani etc in it.

“Heer” (1956) was a Filmistan production. It was directed by Hamid Dutt. The movie had Pradeep Kumar, Nutan, Ulhas, Darpan, S. L. Puri, Randhir, Krishna Kumari, Zohra Sehgal, Chaman Puri, Mubarak, Murad, Rashid Khan, Lalita Pawar, Shakuntala etc in it.

“Zalzala” (1952) is by now an obscure movie. This movie was produced by a production house called “Art Film Of Asia”. It was directed by Paul Zills. The movie had Kishore Sahu, Dev Anand, Geeta Bali, Krishnakant, Misra, Shakoor, Raji, Sunalini Devi, Sita Bose, Michael, Manju, Jagdev etc in it.

Rajesh Khanna (29 december 2012-18 july 2012) is no more. He breathed his last yesterday. He was just 69 years of age. He was ailing for a few months but we thought that his ailment was nothing more than routine age related problems that everyone with advancing age has to face.

Yesterday (18 july 2012) was a sad day for followers of Hindi movies, especially for those who lived through 1970s. Rajesh Khanna (29 december 1942- 18 july 2012) is no more. He was only 69. It was not an age to go.
