If one looks online for details about old obscure movies, we most likely end up at sites that promise the world but deliver nothing.
Thankfully, we in this blog get our details from Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh, our own beloved inhouse encyclopaedia. So when I needed to find the details about “Sindoor” (1947), all I had to do was to search for the old posts on this movie.
Here is the information that Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh had shares with us about this movie :-
SINDOOR(1947),a Filmistan production was produced, directed, acted by Kishore Sahu. Not only this he also wrote the story, dialogues and one song in it. Additionally, he has sung also a song in it !
The Hero was Kishore Sahu. The Heroine was Shamim and the cast cosisted of Gulab, Sushil Sahu, Ramesh Gupta, Rajendra, Pratima Devi, Paro, Moni Chatterjee and others.
This film was released on 1-1-1947.
This was a revolutionary movie in those days, as it tackled the issue of re-marriage of widows.
The story revolves round the family of a wellknown cotractor of Lucknow Shiv Prasad Tiwari. He lives with his mother(dadi ma),second wife(maaji),elder son Beni and younger son Ratan. His daughter is already married and away.
One of their distant relations Mausi lives in Tulsighat with her young widow daughter and her small child.
Shiv prasad brings the widow- Meera (Shameem) and her child to Lucknow, where his elder son Beni (Kishor Sahu) loves and wants to marry her.
The entire film is full of melodramatic scenes with final happy outcome after a long speech by ShivPrasad. Sushil Sahu(real brother of K.Sahu) plays the role of the spoiled step brother Ratan’s role in the film.
Khemchand Prakash used several (now) less known singers in this movie, like Sushil Sahu, Paro, Naseem Akhter, S.L.Puri, Kishore Sahu and Moti in 3 songs.
The songs of this movie have by now become as obscure as the movie. But as many as four songs from this movie have already been discussed in the blog.
Here is the fifth song from this movie. It is sung by Naseem Akhtar and Sushil Sahu. Neelkanth Tiwari is the lyricist. Music is composed by Khemchand Prakash.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.

Lyrics (Provided by Nitin Shah)
kisi ke madhur pyaar mein mann mera kho gaya
kisi ke madhur pyaar mein mann mera kho gaya
mann mera kho gaya
mann mera kho gaya
jeevan ki har gali mein
jeevan ki har gali mein mera chaand hans gaya
main ho gayi kisi ki koi mera ho gaya
koi mera ho gaya
kisi ke madhur pyaar mein mann mera kho gaya
bann bann ke taare nainon mein sapne chamak uthhe
har ang mein umang ke gehne damak uthhe
haan chupke chupke jab se
haan chupke chupke jab se koi mann mein bass gaya
main ho gayi kisi ki koi mera ho gaya
koi mera ho gaya
kisi ke madhur pyaar mein mann mera kho gaya
rah-rah ke mere dil se hai kehta kisi ka dil
haan ek hi manzil hai apni ek hi manzil
ham ek hi manzil pe chalen
ho na kabhi door
ham ek hi ee ee manzil pe chalen
ho na kabhi door
bann jaaye meri preet teri maang ka sindoor
maaang kaa sindoooor
teri maang ka sindoor
haan chupke chupke jab se
haan chupke chupke jab se koi mann mein bass gaya
main ho gayi kisi ki koi mera ho gaya
koi mera ho gaya
