In September 1988, Doordarshan National channel started telecasting what was to become the stupendously popular serialization of the renowned epic ‘Mahabharat’. And for a period of almost two years (94 Sundays), an audience of almost 20 crore Indians would be glued to the TV sets. And in every episode, the audience was greeted with the rendition of the title song and shlokas, and the every episode was bid good bye with a verse that summarized the story, the state of affairs, and the learnings from the particular episode. Ah but yes, it is these ‘more’ desires of the man that are the thorn in the side.
