Hullo to all in Atuldom

Wishing that everyone in this Kingdom of Atulsongaday has the power to withstand the early summer that we are experiencing this year, the sun seems to be unusually hot.

The late 70s and most of 80s was the period when Amitabh Bachchan ruled over the Hindi film industry – Bollywood – like no actor before him had ever done. But there were other actors who had their own fan followings and set directors who repeated them in film after film and mostly with the same few heroines. This list of actors included Vinod Khanna, Jeetendra, Shatrughan Sinha etc. and the heroines who benefited from acting with these actors were Leena Chandavarkar, Neetu Singh, Reena Roy, Moshumi Chaterjee, Sulakhshana Pandit etc. I am not naming all the heroines of that period here simply because the list will be very long, this is only a sample.

Ok let me make it clear that today I am presenting a song from a Jeetendra movie. Yes, friends you guessed right it is his birthday. He turns 75 today. I am refraining from giving his biodata here, we don’t need it, do we?We have all liked his movies at some point in our life.

I am sure that today’s song was a loved song back in it time. It is from Santaan (1976). It had Ashok Kumar, Nirupa Roy, Satyen Kappu, Bindu, Johnny Walker, Jeetendra, Rekha, Utpal Dutt etc.

Dinanath (Ashok Kumar) is a labourer, who has determined to educate his son Kishore (Satyen Kappu – also credited as Satyendra Kapoor), make him a doctor and get him married to his friend’s daughter Shanu (Ruhi) as promised to his friend on the death-bed. Kishore promises to marry Shanu and makes her pregnant. But unfortunately, he has other plans of making quick money. He marries Lata (Bindu) who is very rich. They neglect and insult his parents. Shanu gives birth to a girl, Parvati (again Ruhi). Lata gives birth to a boy, Ravi (Jeetendra). Dinanath becomes blind and his wife Tulsi (Nirupa Roy) works as a housemaid in the household of her own son, without disclosing her identity. Ravi grows up in her hands, develops lot of affection for Dinanath, Tulsi & Parvati. After 20 years Tulsi reveals the truth while breathing her last.  Kishore will not attend her funeral, because of his status in the society. Now Ravi decides to teach his parents a lesson for ill-treating his grandparents with the help of Advocate Baldev Raj (Utpal Dutt) and his daughter Sarita (Rekha).

So folks that then was a synopsis of the movie. It is produced and directed by Mohan Segal. The lyrics are by Verma Malik, and Laxmikant Pyarelal are the music directors. The movie had one multi-part song by Mukesh which was posted way back in 2013. Today’s song is a dance drama presented by Rekha and Jeetendra on their college day. It is sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle.

Wishing our dear Jeetendra a healthy and active (as he always is known to be) life with this vintage Jeetendra classic. (Folks, please don’t take up arms over the use of the term ‘vintage’; this song is 41 years old. All right lets call it neo-vintage. 🙂 )

choop

pappu ki mummy

pappu ki mummy
tu badi nikammi
teri jaan ko bachche rotey hain
tu khele rummy
pappu ki mummy
kya
tu badi nikammi
phir se bolo to
teri jaan ko bachche rotey hain
tu khele rummy
pappu ke papa
kya
tu bhool ke waada
pappu ke papa
tu bhool ke waada
ye line lagaa di bachchon ki
kya mila hai faayda

pappu ki mummy
bolo bolo bolo
tu badi nikammi
o ho ho ho
teri jaan ko bachche rotey hain
tu khele rummy

jhoothe dilaase sahaare bharose
mujhe yaad hain
haan
mujhe yaad hai tera har kaarnaama
mohabbat ke saare hi
waade bhula kar
to har saal kar deta hai ek hungama
ye teri adaao ne sikhlaaya
main tha aadmi bada seedha saadha
hai tera dosh bhi
is mein o rani
mujhse jyaada
pappu ke papa
mummy
na bol jyaada
kya bhool gaya tu
chand sitaron waala waada
waada
kaun sa waada

teri kasam kha ke main karta hoon waada
teri kasam kha ke main karta hoon waada
teri khushiyon pe saari main khushiyaan lutaa doon
sadaa phool ban ke mehakti rahe tu
teri aisi rangeen duniya sajaa doon
teri kasam kha ke main karta hoon waada
kahin tere mere pyar ki toote na sajana ye maryada

pappu ke papa
papa
tu bhool ke waada
ye line laga di bachchon ki
kya mila hai faayda
pappu ki mummy
mummy
tu badi nikammi
teri jaan ko bachche rotey hain
tu khele rummy

o mere pyaare papa
mujhe fees to de do
fees to de do
bete kahaan se de doon
kyu kiya tha waada
ab kaapi le do
kaapi le do
o beti kahaan se le doon
nange paaon mere
koi jooti nahin hai
idhar to dekho daddy
meri kachhi nahin hai
subah se mujh ko khaana bhi to mila hai aadha
aur is aadhe me se bhi wo
khaa gaya aadha
khaana ghar mein thoda
khaane waale zyaada
jitney thode hotey milta utna jyaada
pappu ki mummy
pappu ke papa
pappu ki mummy
pappu ke papa
mummy
papa
arre maro
chup karo
mummy
papa
mummy
papa
arre bas
mummy
papa
arre bas karo
arre mera sar mat khaao
