Under Sudhirji’s current series “Songs repeated in hindi films” he posted Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si on March 17th, that reminded me that Farooque Sheikh’s Birth anniversary was round the corner. he would have turned 72 today (25 march 2020).

Today’s song is from an old film Baghbaan-1938. There was one more film Baghbaan made in 2003, but the story was different. One film having similarity in name was film Baadbaan made in 1954. This too was a different one.

Baghbaan-38 was the first film of A R Kardar as a Director in Bombay, after his very successful foray in to the Calcutta Film world. This film was made by General Films, Bombay. The music was by Mushtaq Hussain, who had a young, ambitious and talented assistant for this film, whose name was Naushad.
