Blog 10-Year Challenge (2012-2022) – Song No. 67

This date ten years ago (viz 9 July 2012) saw five songs from five different movies getting covered in the blog. Here are the details:-

Blog post number Song Movie (Year) Remarks
6201 Jo dil ki baat hoti hai Baaz (1953) Movie YIPPEED by now
6202 Nigaahen kyun milaayin thhin Laal Kunwar(1952) 8 songs covered out of 11
6203 Khilona jaan kar tum to mera dil tod jaate ho Khilona(1970) Movie YIPPEED by now
6204 Agar tu aabroo apni bachaa leti to achcha thhaa Ladki Pasand Hai(1971) One song covered out of 8
6205 Maana teri nazar mein Aahistaa Aahistaa (1981) 4 songs covered out of 8

One can notice that two movies (out of five) whose songs were covered ten years ago on this date have since been YIPPEED. That leaves us with three movies that are eligible for blog ten year challenge today.

“Ladki Pasand Hai”(1971) is one of the eligible movies.

“Ladki Pasand Hai”(1971) was produced by B L Rawal and directed by C L Rawal for Rawal Films, Bombay. The movie had Mumtaz and Deepak Kumar in lead roles. The movie also had Rajendranath, Sajjan, Sulochana, Jeevan, Manmohan, Siddhu, Jayshree T, Guddi, Mehmood Junior, Tabassum, Manorama, Randhir, Mumtaz Begum, Uma Dutt, Niranjan Sharma, Radhe Shyam, Ram Avtar, Ramlal etc in it.

“Ladki Pasand Hai”(1971) had eight songs in it. One song has so far been covered. That song was covered exactly ten years ago on this date.

So after exactly ten years to the date, here is the second song from “Ladki Pasand Hai”(1971) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Lata Mangeshkar. G L Rawal is the lyricist. Music is composed by Sonik Omi.

Only audio of the song is available. It appears that the song was excluded from the movie.

Lyrics of the song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

Song-Kahaan le ke jaayen ye toota hua dil (Ladki Pasand Hai)(1971) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-G L Rawal, MD-Sonik Omi

Lyrics(Provided by Prakashchandra)

kahaa..aan leke jaayein
ye tootaa huaa dil
ke is dil ki ab koyi manzil naheen hai
kahaa..aan leke jaayein
ye tootaa huaa dil
ke is dil ki ab koyi manzil naheen hai
naheen jab tumhaari
muhabbat ke qaabil
to phir ye kisee ke bhi
kaa..aaabil nahin hai
kahaa..aan leke jaayein

na sochaa hamein tod kar
baaghbaan ne
judaa phool se
hamein zindagi ki
sazaa dene waaley
binaa saans ye jism
kaisey jiyegaa
binaa saans ye jism kaisey jiyega
agar dil mein aaye to zindaa jalaa do
ke jalnaa..aa muhabbat mein
mushqil naheen hai
kahaan leke jaayein

karengey na ruswaa
kabhi pyaar ko hum
tumhaarey rahey hain
ye haque hai tumhaaraa
hamein..aen bhool jaao..oo
hai zid ye hamaari ke tum par marenge
hai zid ye ke tum par marenge
chamaktaa to hai chaand bhi aasmaan par
magar woh tumhaaraa
muqaabil naheen hai
nahin jab tumhaa..aari
muhabbat ke kaabil
to phir ye kisee ke bhi kaabil naheen hai
kahaa..aaan leke jaayein…aen

This movie must be one which Mumtaz signed before her successfull stint,
Lata has got only one solo song(that too was edited out or not picturised), other female singers are Usha Timothy, Sulakshana pandit who gave voice for child artistes and
Hemlata sang all the important songs for Heroine ??
(Hemlata gave playback for Mumtaz only for this movie ????

Hero Deepak kumar`s family banner produced this movie, which also produced movies :
Miss India(1957)(S.D.Burman)
Dil hi to hai(1963)(Roshan)
College girl(1960)(Shankar Jaikishan)
Dil ne phir yaad kiya(1966)(Sonik Omi),
Aabroo(1968)(Sonik Omi)
Ladki Pasand Hai(1971)(Sonik Omi)
Chor mandali(1983)(Kalyanji Anandji)(I guess this movie is an Unreleased one ??? & Raj kapoor`s Last film as actor and also Raj Kapoor was paired with Asha Parekh only in this movie ???)

Thanks Atul ji for selecting this sad Lata solo song
