‘Doosri Dulhan’ (1983) was produced by Dharampal Gupta and was directed by Lekh Tandon who also wrote screenplay and dialogues. The cast included Sharmila Tagore, Victor Bannerjee, Shabana Azmi, Sudhir, T P Jain, Shahid Khan, Sudhir Dalvi, Leela Mishra, Nitin Sethi, Paro and Master Manish etc. Madan Puri made a guest appearance in the film. The film was made by D.P.Productions, Bombay. It was directed by one of the veterans from New Theatres, Calcutta, Hemchander Chunder (1907 – 1960). He was a producer and director. He made his film debut in 1931 as an actor with BN Sircar’s short-lived film company International Filmcraft in Prafulla Roy’s Chasher Meye , and made his directorial debut in 1935, co-directing with Premankur Atorthy .

This beautiful haunting melody is sung by Asha Bhosle, is written by M K Javed and composed by Usha Khanna. This is from “Aaja Sanam” (1975).

This movie was written and directed by Yusuf Naqvi for producer S. A. Mahmood. The Music Director was Usha Khanna and there were three lyricists – Indeevar, M. K. Javed, Kafil Azar.

Aaja Sanam starred Feroz Khan as Dr. Satish, Tanuja as Shanti, Deven Verma as Dr. Kaushal Verma with Mukri, Sulochana Chatterjee, Bipin Gupta, and Indu Shivraj also featuring prominently.

The music was originally by Hansraj Behl, but after composing just one song by Geeta Dutt, he had some dispute with the Producer and he left the film. Then A.R.Qureshi was brought in as the film’s Music Director and he composed 9 songs. The film’s cast included Shakeela, Mahipal, Heeralal, Maruti, Tiwari, Helen, Nazi, Sadiq, Roopmala and many others.

‘Taqdeer Ki Tope’ (1939) was produced and directed by Vithaldas Panchotia under the banner of Shri Bharat Lakshmi Pictures. The cast included Master Nissar, Husn Bano, Vithaldas Panchotia, Jyotsana Gupta, Sultana Banu, Fakir Mohammed, Abdul Kabuli, Narbada Shankar, Master Gama, Shanti Devi, Aruna Devi etc. I have no idea about the genre of the film. I came across the name of the film while listening, for the first time, the audio clip of a song rendered by Master Nisaar. I found the song interesting because it is rendered by Master Nissar in the Hindustani semi-classical style. Before I listened to the song, I was under the impression that Master Nissar was an actor first and had to sing for himself as during his time, the playback singing system was yet to be evolved. But his voice sounded like a trained singer.
