So we are at it again. For the 161st time in the blog ! We arrive at post number 16100 in the blog with this writeup !
I have mentioned it in the past that we no longer look forward to these century posts with the same eagerness as in the past. This applies not only to blog centuries but also to the centuries of artists. At this moment, a good number of artists are into their ninetees. I propose to take them all up to their respective centuries after we are done with this blog century.
This post too takes up one such case. The artists in questions are Shankar Jaikishan. If some artists are in their 90s, then there is one set of artists who are in their 990s- 999 to be precise. This post sees them break into the four figure mark. We have had singers (four) and lyricists (three) who are in four figures in the blog. Shankar Jaikishan music director duo join them today and become the first music directors to reach 1000 songs in the blog.

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 99
———————————————————————————–
This day ten years ago (viz 15 December 2010) was a wednesday, viz middle of the week. I was based at Nagpur. After initial struggle early in the year for settling down, I began to post songs at an average of 5 songs a day from
July 2010 onwards. Then there was a temporary slowdown in November 2010. I picked up pace again in december 2010. I notice that I had covered as many as seven songs on 15 december 2010. This was one of the seven occasions in the month when I posted as many as seven articles in a day. The first post appeared at 7:13 AM and the seventh at 9:27 AM. That is the kind of productivity I was capable of ten years ago. ! 🙂
Here is the list of the songs covered that day:-
| Blog post number | Song | Movie | Year | Remarks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3346 | Balam mohe chhedo naa | Daasi | 1944 | 6 songs covered out of 11 |
| 3347 | Gaaye jaa geet milan ke tu apni lagan ke | Melaa | 1948 | YIPPEED by now |
| 3348 | Dharak dharak tere bin mera jiyaraa | Singaar | 1949 | YIPPEED by now |
| 3349 | dil ki duniyaa ujad gayi | Shair | 1949 | YIPPEED by now |
| 3350 | Taaraa toote duniyaa dekhe | Malhaar | 1951 | YIPPEED by now |
| 3351 | O chaand jahaan wo jaayen | Shaarda | 1957 | YIPPEED by now |
| 3352 | Jalti huyi jawaaniyaan | Bambai Raat Ki Baahon Mein | 1967 | One song out of 5 covered |
One can notice that five out of 7 movies whose songs were covered ten years ago have since been YIPPEED.
