Hollywood may have come out with films like ‘Telefon’, ‘Cellular’, ‘Phone Booth’ etc. much later. The Hindi film industry already had a film titled ‘Trunk Call’ way back in 1960. And today this film makes a debut on this blog.

“Ek Do Teen” (1953) was a Shorey Films Production. After the success of his “Ek Thhi Ladki” (1949), Roop Shorey made “Ek Do Teen” (1953) with a similar story line and similar team. He in fact would make movies on the same storyline for the rest of his movie making career till 1970s, but would never be able to replicate the success of “Ek Thhi Ladki” (1949) again.

“Mother India” (1957) was a movie that was released before I was born. So this movie is from an era before my time. I first watched this movie in late 1970s in its nth re run in a dilapidated movie hall. Moreover I was not much into old movies in those days and I went to watch this movie so that I may be able to say that I had seen this movie. 🙂
