It’s been a while since my last post here. And I feel pretty bad about it. Somehow, in the last month (or more), I’ve just not been able to generate the required mental juice to be able to come up with anything worth putting on paper (or on electronic media). Had Shakespeare been around and had one look at me, he’d have promptly coined something like “Listlessness, thou hast what human spirit conquer’d, For Man knoweth not whence he cometh, and where he goeth”.

October seems to be the month of birthdays for all who made it a habit to entertain us. We have already celebrated Vinod Khanna’s birthday. Next was the turn of Rekha who shares her birhday with S.D.Burman. Then we have the Superstar of the millennium (as the media went overboard describing him) Amitabh Bachchan followed by the grand old man of Hindi movies Ashok Kumar who shares it with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Then the list will have Nirupa Roy (everyone’s Mom or Ashok Kumar’s heroine as you may choose to remember her). And going by the list which Atul has compiled with the list sent by our in-house encyclopedia Arunkumar Deshmukhji and lots of inputs from Khyatiji and Prakashchandraji we will be celebrating a lot of birthdays in the days to come.

Whenever I come across the name of the film “Baat ek raat ki” the song ‘na tum hame jaano, na ham tumhen jaane’ is the song I remember. The Hemant Kumar version is posted in the blog. I have seen this song many times on ‘Chhaaya geet’.
