“Pyaase Dil” (1974) was a New Ashoka International Production movie. It was produced by Amritlal Khanna. Shokh was the writer and producer of this movie. Thankfully, we in this blog get our details from Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh, our own beloved inhouse encyclopaedia. So when I needed to find the details about “Sindoor” (1947), all I had to do was to search for the old posts on this movie.

These are the days of instant connectivity when one can keep in contact with one’s beloved through calls, sms and what not !
It was just a decade or two ago that such communication took place via the medium that is now known as snail mail. Letters were sent to one’s beloved though post office, and in case of Hindi movies where the hero’s beloved lived in the same mohalla, he would try to send his love letter directly, without going through the formality of posting it through the post office.

“Us Paar” (1974) starring Moushmi Chatterjee and Vinod Mehra was a sweet little film about love between a gypsy girl and young boy living in the village. Their love for each other is sweet and pure. Moushami Chatterjee (Kamli) is engaged to Bhairo (Jalal Agha). Mohan (Vinod Mehra) and Kamli decide to elope as they have no hopes of their love being allowed otherwise.
