Talented Music directors like C.Ramchandra, S D Burman, Salil Chaudhari, Hemant Kumar, Naushad, Ravi, Chitragupta etc from the A category gave us everlasting melodies. Hindi film music became people oriented, in the real sense, from Khazanchi-1941. Till then HFM was ,as if, in the clutches of Classical and stage music.
The begining of the Fifth decade of the 20th century was a revolutionary period for Film Industry. Mehboob, Kardar, K.Asif, V.Shantaram, Filmistan etc established their own studios and started producing meaningful cinemas. It also brought a new dimension to film music. This decade showed that Good Music, on its own, can make a film successful at the box-office, irrespective of other factors like cast, plot etc.
