‘Ishwar Bhakti-1951’ (alias ‘Shani Mahatmya’) was directed by Gunjal for ‘Shri Shyam Chitra, Bombay’. It was produced by R.B. Haldiya. HFGK Vol-III mentions that this movie was passed by the Censor Board on 14.02.1951. It was from the genre of ‘devotional’ or ‘bhakti pradhaan’ movies. ‘Ishwar Bhakti-1951’ has Nirupa Roy, Trilok Kapoor, Shalini, Urvashi, Nand Kishore, Sudha Bai, Parvati, Rajni, Kamlakant, Chaman Puri, Saroop and others in its cast. The song under discussion is one such song, which according to me deserves to be a better known song, if not a well known song. Like most music lovers, I too was unaware of this song till recently. This song is from an obscure movie from the decade of seventies. The title of the movie is ‘Hazaar Haath-1978’.

It had Kiran Kumar, Sarika, Raza Murad, Appi Umrani, Sanjana, Rajni Bala, Sabi Oberoi, Makhan Singh, Albela, Sandhu, Shashi, Randheer, Shankar Bhake, Amrit Pal, Qureshi, Feroze Irani, Bhola, Manohar, Goel, Shah, Kay Dee and others. Padma Khanna makes a friendly appearance in this movie. Sukhdev Raj makes a special appearance as a ‘truck driver Sardarji’ in this movie. Story of this movie was written by B. Krishna Rao and its dialogues were written by Nida Fazli. Editing of this movie was done by Madhu Adsule.

‘Chehre Pe Chehraa-1980’ was directed by Raj Tilak, for ‘Tilak Movies, Bombay’. Raj Tilak was also the producer of this movie. It had Sanjeev Kumar, Rekha, Vinod Mehra, Sulakshana Pandit, Amol Palekar, Rajani Sharma, Shree Ram Lagoo, Iftekhar, Shammi, Suresh Chatwal, Kumar Aditya, Prem Sagar and others. Shatrughan Sinha and Amjad Khan made special appearances in this movie. Screenplay of this movie was written by Raj Marbrose and dialogues were written by Kadar Khan. Editing of this movie was done by Madhu Sinhaa. This movie is said to be based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel ‘Dr. Jeykll & Mr. Hyde’ and it was passed by Censor Board on 21.05.1980 with restricted viewing certificate (i.e. with ‘A’ category certificate).
