Today, we are celebrating the 3400th day that this blog has been operating. And this song marks the 100th song of Shewan Rizvi as a lyricist
We in this blog tend to celebrate centuries. Initially, it was centuries of songs in the blog that used to get cellebrated after every 100 posts. With time, we had new concepts like “some stats” page and contributions by regulars. Soon, these things made us realise that artists and contributors too could have their centuries, and we began to celebrate their centuries as well.

Today, we are celebrating the 3400th day that this blog has been operating.
And we Yippeee a film that has been waiting for more than two years for the final song to come online. 🙂
Sometimes, Atul ji springs a wonderful surprise. And at a very short notice too. It is 8.30 pm in the night (on 7th Nov). I am just casually checking my emails. Plop. There is a message from him. We have a significant and a very different type of milestone lined up for tomorrow (8th Nov). The immediate next sentence, he is quickly clarifying that no, the said milestone has nothing to do with demonetization anniversary or any other subject of Indian economy. The next sentence he clarifies, without building any suspense or delays in his words. 8th Nov is exactly the 3400th day of the continued existence of our blog. A few lights start blinking inside the head. Wow, – thanks ji, – what a surprise, – such a different type of milestone, – gosh tomorrow, – what a scramble, – and in a secret corner, another light blinks that says – अरे सर, थोड़ा एडवांस नोटिस तो देना चाहिए॰ ॰ ॰ खैर॰ ॰ ॰

Her name is listed as the fourth lady music director in Hindi cinema. But then, that is where the comparison ends. The first three names considered are Ishrat Sultana, better known as Bibbo, then Jaddan Bai, and then we have Khorshed Minocher-Homji, more popularly known as Saraswati Devi. These stalwart composers from the earlier decades (1930s and 40s) of Indian cinema, were formally trained in Hindustani classical music, which also defined their style and the types of songs they composed.

Greetings to all on today’s festival of Rakshabandhan. I hope and pray that celebrations have been happily enjoyed in the household of all readers and friends.
As we have discussed in many posts earlier on this topic, Rakshabandhan is celebrated on the full moon day of the month of Saawan. In traditional terms, the timing of today’s celebrations got restricted due to two additional astrological events that coincided with the full moon celebration. As per the calculations of the ephemeris applicable to the Indian subcontinent, the full moon ‘tithi’ i.e. the ‘poornima’ started at 10:29 pm yesterday (6th Aug), and will be in effect till 11:41 pm tonight (7th Aug).

I was under the impression that “Johar Mehmood in Goa”(1965) was YIPPEED with the last song that was discussed in the blog. Now it turns out that I had incorrectly assumed that song as a multiple version song and that a song from the movie was actually left to be discussed.
So here is this missing song from “Johar Mehmood in Goa”(1965). This song is sung by Kamal Barot, Shamsdhad Begam and chorus. Akhtar Romani is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.

In Hindi movies, carrying out romance is considered the sole prerogative of the lead pair. Lesser characters in the movie are virtually forbidden to have any feelings, including romantic feelings and so they are not supposed to act romantic.
