Majboor of 1948, a social musical film, was produced by Bombay talkies and directed by Nazir Ajmeri. The star-cast included Munavvar Sultana and Shyam, supported by Indu, Sohan Lal, Jagannath, Dar Kashmiri, Ganju, Shama Gulnar, Ameer Bano, Shivraj, Ram Shashtri, Lakshman Rao, Manto Bai etc. Ghulam Haider set the lilting music to the lyrics by Nazim Panipati.

On the insistence of AV Meiyyapan, the owner of AVM Productions, the producer of thes movies, tunes of the songs of the Tamil version were reused in Hindi songs as well.
