Subhash Ghai first directed “Kallicharan”(1976). People like me thought that his title was inspired from a leading West Indian batsman of those days namely alvin Kalicharan. Our doubt was confirmed when he named his next movie as “Vishwanath”(1978). 🙂 Vishwanath was a leading Indian batsman of those days. Gavaskar and Vishwanath used to be the two most reliable Indian batsmen of those days. Gavaskar would score runs on placid tracks whereas Vishwanath would score runs on pitches assisting bowlers. India never lost a test match when Vishwanath scored a test century. Vishwanath married Gavaskar’s sister and that way the two of them are jeeja and saala.

Today (12 january 2017) is the 99th birth anniversary of C Ramchandra (12 january 1918- 5 january 1982). One of the earlier pioneers of HFM, C Ramchandra composed music in several languages viz Tamil, Marathi, Hindi.
