If you want to discover unheard of musical gems from Hindi movies, then the best bet would be to look for B grade movies. The catch is, finding such B grade movies can be a tall order as such movies as well as their music tends to be highly elusive.

Most people do not value time as much as they value money. They do not realise that time, unlike money, continues to slip under our fingers irretrievably, every monent of our life. sixty minutes make an hour, and twentyfour such hours make a day. Thirty such days make a month, a couple of months make a season, six such seasons make a year, and with that one year is gone. Like this years continue to slip away. Most people waste their childhood in playing and their youth in carnal pleasures. And before they realise it, they have wasted their whole life without doing anything worthwhile ! They have wasted all the opportunities that came their way !

“Hyderabad Ki Naazneen” (1952) is a movie about which very little is known. I have discussed two songs from this movie and the only thing that I have been able to find from the picturisation is that Nigar Sultana played the title role in this movie.

“Oonchi Haweli” (1955) is an obscure movie by now. Few information seems to be available about this movie except that this movie had actors like Karan Dewan,,Nirupa Roy,Bhagwan,Lalita Pawar, B M Vyas etc in it. This movie was produced by Sharad Production and it was directed by Dhirubai Desai.

The super Manna Dey song from Aashirwaad, 1968. Lyrics are by Gulzar and music is by Vasant Desai.
The lyrics of this song are just superb, very characteristic Gulzar poetry, use of very simple words, communicating a very profound ideas. The lines “saans ki dori chhoti pad gayee, lambi aas dagariyaa” is such a warm and touching thought, said so simply.
