In this post I present a qawwaali written by Sahir Saab. In the string of qawwaalis, I had some time back posted the iconic qawwaali from the film Kaala Samunder (1962), with the mukhdaa (title) “Meri Tasweer Le Kar Kyaa Karogey Tum” . There is one more qawwaali from the same film, not as well known, and is somewhat rare and obscure. But then, bless this YouTube that I am able to trace this qawwaali finally.

Those were the days when Disco music was becoming the rage and lyrics were losing their importance in such songs. During those days, we fortunately still had the kind of music in some movies that we had grown up to love all these decades. The film is produced under the banner of JJ Films, Bombay and directed by Charandas Shokh, the star cast of the film includes Shailendra, Sonia Sahni, Azra, Ulhaas, Sham Kumar, Mirza Musharraf, Kundan, Brahmchari, SK Prem, Sarita Devi, Uma Dhawan etc. The lyricist is yet another new name for this blog, Akmal Hyderabadi. The music is composed by Usha Khanna.
