Subir Sen, the composer is himself an accomplished singer. This is a different style of composition. A very delicate fashion, of the tune returning to the mukhda in each stanza/antara. Very delicately done, almost like a breeze, and Rafi Sahab is the master, I think it was very easy for him. Having been singing for S. D. Burman for decades by 1972. One wonders if Subir Sen was testing Rafi Sahab if he could do this. One more thing I have noticed that each time the mukhda lines are repeated, the subtle changes in the lines repeating. There is a slight variation even at the end, when whole mukhda is repeated. Almost imperceptible. And again, the end of the song with final line.

‘Ooparwaala Jaane'(1977) was produced and directed by Naresh Saigal. The cast included Vinod Mehra and Rehana Sultan in the lead roles supported by Abhi Bhattacharya, Shailesh Kumar, Lalita Kumari, Asit Sen, Laxmi Chhaya, Ratna, Jasbir, Rajan Haksar etc. The film was released on November 28, 1977.

This musical bandwagon i.e. our blog ‘atulsongaday…’ recently clocked the 19500th post and this was also a special post for another reason i.e. it marked the 3400th Rafi song on this blog.
That leads us to think about the Rafi songs that are yet to be presented here. We have a long way to go for that. The total number of Rafi songs for films are 4846 (as mentioned in the statistics page of the blog). So we have another 1446 Rafi songsleft to be covered in the blog provided they are all available for us to savour.

“Naach Uthhe Sansaar”(1976) was directed by Yakub Hasan Rizvi for Regal Theatres, Bombay. The movie had Shashi Kapoor, Hema Malini, Simmi Garewal, Rajinder Nath, Leela Mishra etc in it.
HFGK lists six songs in “Naach Uthhe Sansaar”(1976). But I notice that song number 1 (aa jaa re aaja) and song number 6 (sookhi dharti dhool udaawe) is one single song that is erroneously mentioned as two separate songs in HFGK.

Today’s song is from the film Johar in Kashmir-1966.
It was produced and directed by I.S.Johar for his own banner, Johar films- Bombay. Lyricist was Indivar and the Music Director was the pair of Kalyanji- Anandji. The film had a cast of Sonia Sahni, I.S.Johar, Ratnamala, Kamal Kapoor, Tiwari, Sapru, Rajan Haksar, Ulhas, Mukri, Manorama, Narmada Shankar, Shetty etc.etc. I had written a post on a Parody song from this film in 2013. By now , today’s song is its 6th song to feature here.
