Today is the 15th of August ֠a date that has a very special meaning and significance for all Indians, wherever they may be in this world. For it was on the 15th of August 1947 that India got its independence from British rule.

Here is the third Rafi solo beginning with the alphabet ‘C’. And what is better than C for ‘chaand’. Truly, a man for all seasons, and a voice for all reasons. A person like him comes maybe once in a millennia. And a voice like his is probably a unique manifestation of God’s own will, maybe once in the sustenance of an entire creation. It seems as if the poet Iqbaal wrote his famous couplet for him, and him alone.
