This is a song from Sagar Movietone’s film ” Service Ltd”-39. It was a social cum crime cum mystery cum comedy film directed by Chimanlal Luhar, a well known director of those times. The music was by Anupam Ghatak, Lyricists were Zia Sarhadi and Pt.Indra and the cast included Surendra, Maya Banerjee, Bibbo, Yakub, Kayam Ali, Bhudo, Sankatha and other Sagars regulars.

Manna Dey was very dear to all the music lovers, but amongst them were the people, a special class who admired his classical renderings, even many a times the songs were picturized on comedians or character artists. “Pick Pocket” (1962), an obscure B grade movie was an R L Films Production. It was directed by Raj Nanda. This movie had Jairaj, Nishi, Tiwari, Kumud Tripathi etc in it.

A rare song, and a very infrequent combination indeed. This is a duet sung by Mukesh and Surinder Kaur. Continuing the series of pending Mukesh songs, and now traversing the year 1949, we come across this gem of a song from an obscure film, ‘Daada’. The duo have sung together only in two films, this one and ‘Sunehre Din’, also from the same year. All songs of ‘Sunehre Din’ are already posted here. From ‘Daada’, there are two Mukesh songs pending, and today I bring on one of them.
